Caring through Storm Eowyn

On behalf of Falkirk Integration Joint Board and our Partnership, I wish to express heartfelt thanks to all colleagues across local health and social care teams for your efforts to keep essential services operational this weekend.

We have heard stories from all corners of the Partnership, with countless examples of colleagues working flexibly to provide continuous care and to keep each other and vulnerable people in our communities safe.

Despite the challenges of extreme weather, power outages, connectivity issues, and disrupted travel arrangements, many of which impacted you and your own families directly, we have all shown calm, strong leadership and effective teamwork. By working together across our Partnership and with wider partners, we have continued to support Falkirk’s most vulnerable.

Demonstrating the essential support we provide is required 24/7, I know many of you changed shift patterns, worked additional hours, worked from different locations, supported other services, and went above and beyond to make it happen. As always, I am grateful for your hard work and compassion.

As we recover, with teams working to get up to full speed again today, we will work with our partners to review our response and learn any lessons to ensure we remain prepared for future challenges.

Thank you,

Gail Woodcock
