Draft Mental Health & Wellbeing Strategic Commissioning Plan for Forth Valley

A draft plan to help shape the vision and delivery of mental health and wellbeing in Forth Valley has been published for feedback.

The plan will be presented to the NHS Forth Valley Health Board and Integration Joint Boards for Falkirk, Clackmannanshire & Stirling in Summer 2025.

The draft Forth Valley Strategic Commissioning Plan has been aligned with the Scottish Government’s Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy, published in June 2023. This has three key pillars:

  • Prevent mental health issues occurring or escalating and tackle underlying causes, adversities and inequalities wherever possible.
  • Promote positive mental health and wellbeing for the whole population, improving
understanding and tackling stigma, inequality and discrimination.
  • Provide mental health and wellbeing support and care, ensuring people and communities can access the right information, skills, services and opportunities in the right place at the right time, using a person-centred approach.

The draft strategic commissioning plan is open for feedback through an online survey, open until Tuesday 3 June. For questions about the survey or draft plan, contact Senior Planning Managers, Paul Smith or Lesley Fulford, at paul.smith@nhs.scot or Lesley.fulford@nhs.scot
