Falkirk celebrates first Scottish Employability Day
Falkirk Health and Social Care Partnership joined a range of local employers to mark the first Scottish Employability Day, promoting careers in care to secondary school pupils, parents, and those seeking inspiration for their career.
More than 270 local people came together in Grangemouth on Thursday 10 September to explore employment, training and support opportunities as part of Scottish Employability Day.
Hosted at Grangemouth Town Hall and the Municipal Chambers, the events brought together local employers, training providers and support organisations to help people take their next step towards employment, education or career progression.

The day welcomed a diverse range of attendees, including secondary school pupils exploring future career options, parents returning to the workplace, job seekers looking for their next opportunity, and individuals taking their first steps into employment.
Visitors had the chance to meet directly with employers and support services, access practical advice, discover training opportunities and learn about the wide range of support available across the Falkirk area. For some attendees, the day led to immediate success, with several people securing employment start dates during the event itself.

Sarah McCulley, Chair of the Falkirk Local Employability Partnership, said: “Scottish Employability Day provides a valuable opportunity to celebrate the life-changing work delivered by our employability partners and local employers across the Falkirk area. The events have been a fantastic success, bringing together organisations and individuals in a way that creates real opportunities for local people.
We’re delighted that participants were able to access advice, support and employment opportunities directly from partners on the day, with some even securing job start dates. It demonstrates the positive impact that collaboration can have in helping people achieve their goals and progress towards sustainable employment.”
Scottish Employability Day is set to become an annual event, helping to raise awareness of the vital role employability services play in supporting people to build skills, access opportunities and achieve positive outcomes in work and life.
