About this project
We are consulting on the integration of Children’s Social Work Services and Justice Services into Falkirk Health and Social Care Partnership.
As the Partnership does not directly employ its own staff, the is no change as a result of this proposed integration to the employment status or terms and conditions of colleagues working in these services.
In practice, integration would change the Board responsible for making decisions about these services and may offer opportunities for services to work more closely with other teams across local health and social care services. If agreed, the Partnership’s Integration Joint Board (IJB) would be responsible for planning, resourcing, and overseeing these services. Members of Falkirk Council currently fulfil this responsibility.
The IJB is made up of representatives from Falkirk Council, NHS Forth Valley, the third sector, people who access our services, and carers. The Board manages the Partnership’s annual budget, currently worth over £300m, and makes decisions about local health and social care services delivered by Falkirk Council, NHS Forth Valley, and commissioned organisations.
We are currently gathering views to inform final recommendations to be presented to Falkirk Council and the Integration Joint Board in January. If approved, the integration of services would be expected from April 2025.
