Survey: Support for unpaid carers of autistic young people

The National Autistic Society Scotland and Carers Scotland are working together to develop a programme of support for parent carers of autistic children and young people.

The ‘Growing Up’ project will provide support to families of autistic children and young people (aged 14-25), primarily around the transition from childhood to adulthood. It is a test and learn programme with innovative delivery and an efficacy evaluation.

The project will support families in Falkirk, Glasgow, Inverclyde, and Ayrshire. It will also provide online support to families across the Highlands.

The two-year programme will be funded by the Self Management Fund: Resilience, Recovery and Development, which is administered by the Health and Social Care Alliance Scotland.

The project is seeking parent carers to help shape support which empowers carers to make more informed decisions, access the right support and self-advocate for themselves and their autistic young person.

A short online survey is now open to gather views and input: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/GrowingUp
