Appointment of Interim Chief Officer
Falkirk Health and Social Care Partnership has appointed Caroline Doherty as its Interim Chief Officer.
Caroline joined the Partnership in 2023 and has served as Head of Community Services since a refresh of the senior leadership team and creation of new portfolio areas.
Ms Doherty said: “It is a privilege to take on this role at a pivotal time for the Partnership, as we work to stabilise our financial position and respond to growing demand for services. I am committed to working closely with staff, partners and communities to navigate these challenges, and look forward to building on the progress already being made.”
Welcoming Caroline’s appointment, Ross McGuffie, Chief Executive of NHS Forth Valley, said: “Caroline has played a key role in driving forward improvements across community services over the last three years. This experience, along with her strong and compassionate leadership, will provide stability and support the work of the Partnership over the coming months until a permanent Chief Officer is appointed.”
Kenneth Lawrie, Chief Executive of Falkirk Council, added: “Caroline brings a wealth of valuable experience. Under her leadership we have seen demonstrable improvements to local services, specifically in shifting the balance of care into community settings. She is well placed to bring together services and teams to drive local services forward.”
As well as her significant contribution to the Partnership over the past 3 years, Caroline brings experience from her previous roles with the Care Inspectorate and East Renfrewshire Health and Social Care Partnership to the Interim Chief Officer position.
Caroline takes on the role from Gail Woodcock from 8 June, with recruitment to the permanent Chief Officer vacancy due to begin imminently.
