Following a competitive recruitment process, Falkirk Health and Social Care Partnership has confirmed the final two members of the new senior leadership team.

Earlier this year, the Partnership designed four refreshed service areas which bring together services with most collaboration opportunities and alignment. The Heads of Service for these portfolio areas are now confirmed as:

  • Head of Specialist Services, Martin Thom:
covering Prison Healthcare, Allied Health Professions, Mental Health, Learning Disability Services, Public Protection, Equipment provision, and Alcohol and Drug Services.
  • Head of Strategic Planning and Transformation, Tom Cowan:
covering primary care; health improvement; strategic planning; policy; performance; equalities; funding and grants; technology enabled care; and transformation
  • Chief Finance Officer, Marie Keirs:
the Chief Finance Officer will lead a new corporate services function which brings together Business and Governance support; commissioning teams; accountancy; and communications.

The Partnership’s Chief Officer, Gail Woodcock congratulates the team on their appointments: “I am confident our new senior leadership team will drive forward our ‘one team’ approach to deliver clear leadership across our complex mix of services.

“Tom and Caroline have made an excellent impact since they have been in their interim roles in the Partnership, while Martin and Marie will continue to bring their expertise and dedication to their service areas.

“We are well placed to hit the ground running with our refreshed portfolios, helping us to deliver strong leadership and better outcomes for the communities we serve.”

The team will formally move to their new posts as of 1 January 2025, with the slotting and matching process to confirm ‘lead’ roles for areas within the four portfolios currently underway.
