Recruitment Roadshow: Community drop-in events to help kickstart your career in care
Falkirk is hiring new team members to support people within the local community.
There are lots of roles available, and you don’t always need qualifications or experience to start your career in care, just a caring attitude.
A series of community drop-in events are planned this September to help people start their career in health and social care. Falkirk’s home care team will be on hand to discuss a range of roles, the application process, and training opportunities.
Drop-in to any of the events, 10am – 4pm;
- Wednesday, 21 September at Grangemouth Town Hall, FK3 8AN
- Thursday, 22 September at Bo’ness Town Hall, EH51 9NJ
- Friday, 23 September at Greenpark Community Education Centre, Braes, FK2 0PZ
Is health and social care for you?
Every day is different when working in care. You can change someone’s life simply by being a good listener, self-motivated, trustworthy, flexible, and enthusiastic.
Starting your career
You don’t need qualifications to get started. As part of your employment with Falkirk Council, Falkirk Health and Social Care Partnership will support you to gain a qualification in health and social care (SVQ Level 2). You will also gain and maintain a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership.
Your role could be within a range of services, including day care support, mental health, mobile emergency care, reablement, or social care.
A role in care can provide experience to gain entry to professions, such as social work, nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and others.
