Winter Vaccines Campaign
The national winter vaccine programme is underway. The flu and coronavirus vaccines are being offered from September 2026. If you’re eligible, you’ll get a letter, email or text with appointment details or information on how to book one.
Vaccinations are offered across a wide variety of locations including primary and secondary schools, care homes, prisons, and maternity services and participating community pharmacies.
Flu vaccines are available from 14 September 2026 until 31 March 2027.
Covid-19 vaccines will be available from 5 October 2026 until 31 January 2027.

- Adults aged 75 and over
- Residents in care homes for older adults
- Individuals aged 6 months and over who are immune suppressed
- Children 6 months–4 years in clinical risk groups
- All children aged 2–5 years not yet in school
- All primary and secondary school pupils
- People aged 65 and over
- People aged 18–64 years with an eligible health condition
- Those living in a long stay residential care home or long stay care
- Pregnant
- Unpaid carers and young carers
- Household contacts of someone with a weakened immune system
- People experiencing homelessness or substance misuse
- Asylum seekers living in a Home Office hotel or B&B accommodation
- Prisoners in the Scottish estate
- Frontline NHS and social Care workers
- Non-frontline NHS staff
- Those living in a Scottish prison
- Poultry workers & bird handlers
- Cattle and swine workers
Health and social care staff can access vaccination through a variety of different routes, including booking into a vaccination clinic via the national online booking portal, or attending a participating community pharmacy or drop-in vaccination session.
