Ask, Tell: Suicide Prevention Workshops
NHS Forth Valley’s Health Promotion Service has scheduled a series of online workshops, “Ask, Tell”, on mental health improvement and suicide prevention.
Training is aimed at any individual working or volunteering across Forth Valley who would like to be more informed about mental health and wellbeing to be able to respond to someone who is experiencing mental distress, mental ill-health and who might be at risk of self-harm or suicide.
The course is ideally suited to people with no previous training in mental health and suicide prevention, exploring how to promote good mental health, give practical advice about how to approach and have compassionate conversations with people experiencing mental distress or feeling suicidal, and when to provide immediate help and support.
The course involves 3 x 1 hour workshops, with sessions starting in August, November/ December. Upcoming course dates are:
- Wednesday’s 11am to 12noon Starting 31st Aug, then 7th Sept & 14th
- Monday’s 3pm – 4pm – 31st Oct, 7th Nov & 14th Nov
- Thursday’s 10am – 11am -24th Nov, 1st Dec & 8th Dec
