Community funding to bring Falkirk’s locality plans to life
Community and third sector organisations across Falkirk are being invited to apply for a share of a new £45,000 Localities Fund designed to support projects that improve health and wellbeing in local communities.
The fund, launched by Falkirk Health and Social Care Partnership and CVS Falkirk & District, will help deliver the priorities set out in locality plans for the Central, East and West areas of Falkirk.
Developed with local people and partners, the plans identify the actions needed to improve health and social care outcomes based on the needs of each community.
A total of £15,000 has been allocated to each locality, with small grants of up to £2,500 and medium grants of up to £5,000 available.
Applications are invited from projects that support one or more of four shared priorities across the locality plans. These focus on helping people, carers and families manage their health and wellbeing, improving awareness of community support and resources, increasing access to mental health and recovery services, and strengthening partnership working to improve experiences and outcomes.
Funding could be used to support a wide range of activities, including peer support groups, wellbeing initiatives, accessible information projects, community outreach programmes and other activities that help address local needs.
Applicants are also encouraged to demonstrate how their project supports the principles of person-centred care, equality and inclusion, trauma-informed practice and reducing inequalities.
Victoria McRae, Chief Executive Officer of CVS Falkirk & District, highlighted the importance of the fund to the third sector: “This fund is about turning local knowledge into local action. The priorities in each locality plan were shaped by the people who live and work in our communities, and this funding gives community and third sector organisations the opportunity to help deliver real change.
“We want to support inclusive, community-led ideas that improve health and wellbeing, particularly for people who may face barriers to accessing support.
“Just as community voices helped shape these plans, we want those voices to continue influencing decisions and improving outcomes across Falkirk.”
The Localities Fund is administered by CVS Falkirk & District, with applications open on the CVS Grant Funding Portal until 1pm on Thursday 12 November 2026.
Further eligibility criteria, applicant guidance, and funding priorities can be found on the CVS Falkirk & District website.
